Assigned as Project Planner for Emergency T/A with a 6 Million Dollar budget, Six (6) weeks to plan with 360 Packages & 62 Addendums which was desired to be planned and coordinated into an eleven day window; in which we (The Turnaround Team) successfully planned and executed.

 

·   The primary responsibility of this position is to plan Turnaround activities in assigned operations areas and lead the Turnaround Team in planning and executing incident-free, on-schedule and on-budget turnaround.

·   Lead a cross-functional role in the Turnaround Team to develop work lists, schedules and job plans for each job.

·   Work lists were developed with a team to build an Access Database that interfaced with Both SAP & Excel.

·   Queried the planning database (Access) for output to Excel & SAP

·   This database was utilized for all project planning, materials and as an interface to the scheduler.

·   This includes development of the plan, scheduling of internal and external resources and preparing the area to manage the execution of the plan.

·   Coordinated the development work packages for each work order that includes safety & permit requirements, work scope, defined individual tasks, man-hour and material requirements, contractor, special equipment needs, etc. and applicable component records.

I was assigned as the night Field Superintendent for two (2) new natural gas-fired electric generating units.  The overall value of the project was at an estimated $200 million.

·   Supervised night shift construction and reported directly to Nightshift Construction Manager.  Monitored construction of concrete placements and equipment placements conducted during the evening hours to facilitate delivery of safe and efficient positioning.

·   Provided technical assistance to contractors and checked construction to verify that specifications and drawing requirements were met.  Provided oversight for union employee relations and managing and mitigating issues per the GPPMA and reporting all issues to the Construction Manager.

·   Responsible for reviewing for accuracy and distribution of progress turnovers.  Coordinated and monitored Contractors’ activity assignments and production.

·   Coordinated and managed material deliveries from lay down yard to unit.

The FBR-B Second Generation Reactor Project was an upgraded design of an existing pilot plant that would be, after a year of R&D, the model for a new multi-million dollar facility.  The Filter Wash Modification Project was a revamp of an existing reactor filter wash system.  The process was upgraded to allow for ease of use for operations, to improve system efficiency, to increase caustic capacity and to be more maintenance friendly.  The project was exclusively contract management with a blend of union and non-union contractors.  The total of both projects was valued at $17 million.

 

·   Duties included review and response to RFI's, (Contractor’s Request For Information), review of contractor’s progress with respect to schedule and direct contractors to adjust manpower and equipment to stay focused on critical path activities.

·   Reviewed daily work with respect to drawings and specifications for quality control.

·   Worked closely with the design engineering team to resolve interference problems and get modifications approved quickly; provided minor design changes for civil and structural interferences, as needed, to allow work to proceed without delays.

·   Kept the project on schedule and minimized impacts to contractors.

·   Monitored receipt of owner supplied equipment and worked with suppliers to furnish missing or backordered items.  Coordinated supplier personnel, as needed, for equipment modifications or checkout and start-up support

·   Reported directly to the Construction Manager for status of design and construction issues; and inspected contractors' work for conformance with design drawings and contract requirements.

Assigned to a Job Representative (Productivity Specialist) position, I worked with off-site Fluor Production Managers to calculate real-time field production levels.

·   Performed constructability studies of the planning, documentation and training needed to ensure an incident-free, efficient transition from construction to commissioning stage of the PS3B project.
